Muscle Mania |
In the late 90's, some mad scientists discovered myostatin, a gene that limits muscle growth in normal (non-diseased) condition. A mutation in the myostatin gene causes severe muscle hypertrophy, which is not good because that's abnormal!
To put things into perspective, here's a photo of a normal whippet (a breed of dog which look similar to greyhound):
And here, is a whippet called "Big Wendy a.k.a. Arnold Schwarzenegger" who has a genetic mutation in the myostatin gene, making her the Incredible Hulk of dogs!
The gene, which is also known as the "Mighty Mouse", had been exploited by many to produce the Belgian Blue cattles. Belgian Blues have natural mutation of the myostatin gene, a result of cross-breeding a number of cattle lineages, making them heavily-muscled "monster cows"!
In 2004, a baby was born with the same genetic mutation in Germany. He has muscles twice the size of other kids his age and half their body fat. And scientists concluded that myostatin works the same way in humans as in animals.
And you can imagine what happen next. Surely some innovative people somewhere would try to create myostatin-inhibitors to cash in the untapped potential of growing muscles with genetic therapy! I mean who wouldn't want to have huge lean muscles by just popping pills and doing nothing, right??!
Soon, the legacy of Arnold Schwarzeneggar and the standards set by Lou Ferrigno, Franco Columbu, and Ed Corney will be surpassed by these genetic-based products, without even setting a foot into a gym!
Medical students, doctors, specialists, consultants, lawyers, accountants, dentists, teachers etc. etc. can all become muscular beings by just popping pills! Or self-injection, depending on the patented formula. Whoah... how convenient!
Tagline: Now everyone can be muscular!
Sure beats AirAsia aye?!

Nerd Energy Drink |
MED STUDENTS, READ THIS: Fancy an energy drink that enhances brain focus and memory retention? Looking for something that's gonna keep you going all night long? Fret not then, here comes the NERD Energy Drink!Formulated by a Medical Student (how appropriate!) from Virginia, this brain juice contains ginkgo biloba, among other weird things, as a memory enhancer.
Other ingredients that the maker claimed to enhance brain power are Vinpocetine, Huperzine A, and DMAE. Since this is an energy drink, it also comes with the stuff you'd expect in a can of Red Bull or Livita, i.e. Taurine, Caffeine, Vit B2, B3, B6, and B12, as well as the not so expected L-carnitine (wah can burn fat too while you're at it!), Carnitine, Glucuronolactone, Ginseng extract, and Guarana seed extract. If this brain juice does what the Nerd maker claims, it'd probably cost RM200 a can! Ginkgo biloba, Ginseng, and L-carnitine don't come cheap! Was thinking a few cups of quad-shot espressos at Coffee Bean would do the trick! Am sticking to my coffee for now. God knows what this kryptonite-tinged juice does to your brain in the long run. Check this Nerd Juice out by clicking the brain image on the right!
[update!]
This nerdy drink is shipped in cartons of 24 cans (12 oz./can) for $48.00 USD. One can is about the price of a can of Heineken! Affordable eh?!

Surgery Posting |
I'm currently in my first week of Surgery posting. Previous batchmates warned this posting is much more stressful than the Gynaecology posting I had earlier, but so far so good for me. Here's a comic strip I found relevant to my current posting, so enjoy!

Face Recognition |
Discovered this site with Face Recognition software from Grace Lau's blog. Tried with a picture of Andy Lau initially, and the result came out with a picture of Andy Lau of 100% resemblance. I decided to give it a try, too!
And also tried with some other random pictures of my friends too. The software says Daniel resembles Monica Belucci when he's asleep and snoring...
Kok Fang, with his home-cut hairstyle (this photo is taken in his prepuberty years, so stop laughing) looks like Wang Li Hom and Nicholas Tze Ting Fung... wtf???
Quek's slumberland face earned him a 68% resemblance of Bae Yong Joon, the Korean aunty-killer. Look alike meh?...
Siu Min pulak looked like the Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice. Can lah, this one quite similar. But the son of Bruce Lee, Brandon, and Terence Gao the Singaporean Mediacorp artiste? This is blasphemy! Hahaha...
And lastly, Keng Tat. The face recognition software said he resemble Stephan Chow, the HK comedy king. And is that a young Sean Connery?...
Interesting eh?!

Handphone Etiquette |
This hilarious 6-minute video, popularly known as the "Hong Kong Bus Uncle", had been circulated online for a while now. It was so popular somebody remixed a rap song titled "Bus Uncle Song - Diu". The video was about this young guy telling off a middle-aged Hongkie coz he spoke too loud on his handphone, and ended up being harshly tongue-lashed by the latter. The conversation is in Cantonese, but there are Mandarin and English subtitles.

Supernatural |
This is another silly video from Girls Out Loud (part of Episode 6) on the existence of supernatural. Rosalyn, the other host of Girls Out Loud, hosts a panel discussion involving a sorceror who tries to take a bullet using his "super powers", a practising witch who kept seeing and hearing ghosts, a teenage bomoh who communicate with ghost and thinks he's not crazy, and a skeptic. Best part is during the second half of the clip when XiaXue shoots the sorceror.

Cobra on Federal Road |
I snapped a pic of our little friend while waiting the traffic in front of me to move. On my left is a Honda Accord which lane was obstructed by our menacing little cobra. The dork in the Honda blared its car alarm (which was damn loud and has multiple musical tunes) to my dismay. The cobra didn't budge an inch. Stupid idiot, can't you see a cobra doesn't have ear lobes like us human?!
So much for increasing the toll rates! Come on Pak Lah, make our road safe and clear up the cobras, pot holes, and flash floods. Then we talk money!

Sex Change |
Have you ever asked yourself:
(1) Why wasn't I born a male with a penis?
(2) Why can't I not have period pains?
(3) Why can't I not give birth but have children?
(4) Why can't I play a more active role in sexual intercourse?
(5) Why can't I be a man?
(6) Why am I branded the weaker sex?
(7) Why can't I have a penis to wank with?
(8) Why can't I be the US president?
(9) Why must I be the mother and not the father?
(10) Why am I such a lousy driver?
... and all the "why nots" you could think of. Look no more, if you have had asked yourself the why nots listed above, the solution is here. Read on. Again, viewer discretion is advised and if you're under the age of 18, please read the rest of the article without getting caught.
The following is a step-by-step guidethrough of a sex change op, female to male.
First, the surgeon would rip the labia majora apart and make a deep incision to expose the root of your clitoris. A catheter (tube) would be inserted into your urethra (your urine pipe) to drain any retained urine or blood.
Further incisions would be made to further expose the whole length of your clitoris and the urethra.
Next, tissue would be grafted along the length of your clitoris and its glands to create the your new penis. At this point it is essential to tell your surgeon before hand if you would like it to have a prepuce or come fully circumcised. At this juncture, the opening of your vagina would be sutured together, thus closing it.
The wounds are allowed to heal. Further reconstructions and refashioning of your newly acquired penis may be needed to achieve maximal satisfaction, cosmetic wise. The last operation would be insertion of an inert material, such as silicone, to create the testicles. You may call it a pair of silicone-balls or silicone-nuts.
And voila! You have your new penis to play with. It may appear small initially (baby-dick), but later on when revascularisation (growing of blood vessels) takes place, your new organ may grow in size, depending on the situation and mood.

Osim's iGallop |
This is the most ridiculous exercising machine I've ever encountered. Every major mall I went, I see Osim's female promoter riding this stupid machine. I can't help it but everytime I see them in action, they reminded me of some scenes from my porn collection. Can you imagine what it would feel like if the seat comes with a vertical stick shaped like a penis attached to it?
I decided to give it a try.
It so happened that I didn't wear my underwear underneath my pants. After a few minutes of riding that stupid iGallop at highest speed setting, my brader got hard, and it became awkward to walk with my pointy crotch. Damn that stupid machine.

Hilton v.s. Rasah |
Here's a glimpse of the KL Hilton "Grand-King Room" (whatever that means). Grand fluffy bed, with 40" plasma TV built into their expensive sound-proofed walls. Damn grand. Staring out the sexy window already give you the "Grand-King" feeling.
That's if you've got the cash. For me, I had to make do with this:
What? Equally satisfying wat! A normal king-sized bed, a FOURTEEN inch TV, a mosquito-netted window. Ahhh... so sexy.
So what if you've got the cash and can pose like this? I also can!
NO DIFFERENCE! WHy pay more? Rasah can fight Hilton hands-down anytime baybeh...
