This restaurant called "Oriental Cravings" is located at Ground Floor (Phase 2) of 1 Utama. I wouldn't have gone in and tried their food if it wasn't for Rach who liked this kind of restaurant. I always had this mindset that such restaurants are run by businessmales/females who use stupid gimmicks and themes such as "old town kopitiam" or "pre-war chinese old town" and the shits alike. Their food sucks, and are friggin expensive. In the end of the day, your tummy is not filled and you felt as though your anus was bruised by the hefty bill.
Oriental Cravings has everything in common - just that their food was actually nice!
We ordered their Pork Spare Ribs in Caramel Sauce, Golden Beancurd, and the Claypot Lou Shu Fun. I liked their Golden Beancurd which has mildly spicy minced meat toppings. The beancurd were fried and it tasted and looked like egg on the inside.
The spare ribs tasted like the normal sweet-and-sour pork (gimmick! gimmick!). Caramel sauce was supposed to be sweet, but this had a tinge of salty and soury taste. Nevertheless, a nice pot of spare ribs to the hungry tummy! The lou shu fun was okay, tasted a better version in Petaling Street. The sauce was a bit dark though.
